The goal of the program is a qualitative change in the professional competencies necessary to perform the following types of professional activities within the framework of existing qualifications:

  • development of CAD models for 3D printing
  • development of new technologies for the production of complex products for aircraft manufacturing, mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, oil and gas industry and other areas
  • printing of products from plastics, metals, ceramics
  • analysis of the results obtained.

  • market of modern 3D printing technologies, basic printing methods.
  • international standards in additive technologies.
  • main advantages and limitations of 3D printing.
  • modeling tools and creating 3D models.
  • basic methods for developing CAD models.
  • practical methods for manufacturing products using 3D printing.
  • practical methods for studying the resulting products.
  • practical methods for processing and improving the surface of products.

Any profession and position where the introduction to the technology is needed. The knowledge level is adjustable

Learning outcomes:


The graduate will have the skills to:

  • assess the feasibility of using additive technologies for the manufacture of products;
  • select the necessary 3D printing technologies for the manufacture of critical products.
  • understanding of methods for analyzing printed products;
  • study of printed samples
  • create 3D models.
  • start printing on different printers.
  • analyze the structure and mechanical characteristics of printed images.
  • analyze the characteristics of protective coatings.

The graduate will have practical experience of:

  • production of additively manufactured samples for physical and mechanical testing;
  • conducting physical and mechanical tests of additively manufactured samples.
  • skills in developing regulatory requirements for complex products made of metals, plastics and ceramics;
  • sample making;
  • analysis of the resulting structures.

Specialists who establish the additive manufacturing unit


Entrance requirement: students with a basic education of at least a bachelor's degree in the field of design and production technologies for mechanical engineering and construction facilities.


Duration:

one week of online lectures + one week of practical work in the lab
